Once upon time…

Once upon a time there was a girl who loved walking and exploring the woods. The giant redwoods were her friend and she often enjoyed sitting on an old trunk covered by a carpet of moss . This place always felt like home for her, where the birds and the river were singing and the ground was covered with a thick layer of leaves… 

A famous quote says “Today, is the first blank page of a 365 page book… Write a good one”. Well, what a better way to start writing this book than with a contemporary “fairy tale”. On January first I was fortunate to spend the first hours of 2017 in the company of some giant redwoods. No place makes me happier than a lush green forest loud from singing birds and gushing rivers. The name of this place is Big Basin Redwoods found north of the Central Coast and relatively close to San Francisco. The drive through the redwoods is so magical but often challenging for someone with a weak stomach. The winding roads often make me sick but in my opinion the beauty of nature begins where these roads end.

When I saw this skirt on Asos’s website, I could not resist the temptation of buying it. The numerous layers of materials covered by the light layer of tulle gave this bottom piece so much volume. The details of embroidery and the incorporation of the sparkling pieces made the skirt so dreamy. That is why I decided to wear it while exploring the Redwoods because the combination of a light purple and dark green, as well as the volume of the skirt and the sparkles on it reminded me of Cinderella.
