Street style – Bow Tie Shirt

I am more of a dress girl, but now with new fashion trends I can easily wear pants and not feel too casual. Bows are my favorite extra touch on a piece of clothing or shoes and nothing shows more femininity than an elegant and defined knot. I was wearing this outfit to a fancy dinner with my husband because we wanted to celebrate our engagement anniversary. He picked a restaurant located on a ship where elegance and grandeur was the norm. The Queen Mary in Long Beach is a one-of-a-kind experience where every inch of the ship has a story to tell. Her construction took place in 1930 in Scotland and her last grand tour was in 1967 when she finally was docked in Long Beach, California. When I saw the ship she instantly reminded me of the Titanic and as soon as I stepped on the deck of the ship, clips from the film came to life in my mind. All the details that I saw in the Titanic film I could recognize on The Queen Mary and it was a very unique experience. Our dinner took place in what was originally the cigar lounge area, filled with large paintings and elegant furnishings. Our waiter served and worked on the ship for over 30 years and he was able to fill us in with some interesting stories about the room and the ship. The food was deliciously prepared, very elegant and fresh baked bread and herbal butter was waiting on the table. Before our main course they brought us dessert which was quite different from other restaurants that I’ve experienced. A chilled sorbet flavored with pear and plum was indulging our senses. Overall, the food was amazing and the ambiance was very calming and pleasant.
