“We write to taste life twice” – Anais Nin
I write this post today to reawaken the beautiful memories that I have from Provence. Monday is never fun unless you travel and you visit a beautiful place. On the first day the first village we visited in Southern France was Lacoste. It was a great start to our big French adventure. Walking on these ancient streets was like stepping back in time. I personally enjoyed the quietness of the village and everywhere I looked I found art shoppes and art schools. For an artist Lacoste is a place of true inspiration.
We arrived in Provence around midnight. I remember waking up at four in the morning and anxiously waiting for the sun to rise. I just wanted to open the windows and breath in some fresh “French” air. The reality and beauty of the place exceeded my expectation. In front of our window there was an old acacia tree that was in full bloom. This tree created the most wonderful flowery aroma in the air and employed hundreds of bees. Bees surrounding the trees were music to my ears and I could not stop smiling. I had my camera in my hand and I waited impatiently for the perfect lighting to capture the beauty around me. Although we were jet lagged, our excitement kept us going and we never got tired of the beautiful views.
I can’t wait to share more of these memories in future blog posts. Thank you for reading.
